Searches continue for leopard

POONCH, June 2: The joint team of Wild Life Department and Police today conducted searches in City Forest and Poonch Fort for the leopard who was spotted roaming in Poonch Bus Stand and also killed two dogs during mid night recently.
Official sources said that the Wild Life team led by  Wild Life Warden Rajouri -Poonch, Raj Kumar (RO) and assisted by two Block Officers  and members from WL Control Room Poonch assisted by armed police team earlier conducted thorough search in  Poonch fort but failed to detect him there. The people said that there were dense bushes inside  fort  and there could be possibility of hiding this leopard there.
But after they failed to trace the wild beast there,  the team then moved to the city forest area along with team of  tranquilizers experts. After 2-3 hours of search the team returned empty handed. The people in Poonch city have been terrorized with the presence of leopard in the city and  they have stopped moving during night hours. Even the shopkeepers are closing their shops little early these days.
