SDS Handwara delegation calls on Div Comm

SRINAGAR, July 3 : Sanathan Dharam Sabha (SDS) of North Kashmir Handwara today alleged that some locals are encroaching temple land in the region with the municipal authorities taking no action against the violators.
The office bearers of the Sabha said that some locals in the area are in open encroaching the temple land in Handwara but the district and the municipal authorities are taking no action over the issue. “We several times through both written and verbal pleas asked the DC Kupwara to intervene and remove the encroachments but there has been no progress over the issue. Also the Municipal authorities are allowing such a development in open to take place,” office bearers of the Sabha added.
However, various Dharam Sahba members including advocate Buhsan Lal, M.K. Pandita, Rajindra Raina, Bansi Lal and others today met the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and appraised him about the latest situation. Members said that they are thankful to Div Com for intervening into the matter and seeking action taken report from the district authorities.
