JAMMU, Jan 23: Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Akhnoor, Suresh Sharma paid surprise visit to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Akhnoor and withheld the salaries of five doctors for remaining unauthorizedly absent.
As per official sources, due to constant fall in temperature and the people falling prey to different diseases, SDM Akhnoor Suresh Sharma paid surprise visit to SDH Akhnoor to check the availability of doctors and others staff.
Acting swiftly, SDM withheld the salary of the five doctors, who were unauthorizedly absent from their duties leading to suffering to the patients coming for treatment in the hospital.
The doctors, who salary has been withheld, are Dr Ratish Verma, Dr Rajeev Sharma, Dr Pankaj Gupta, Dr Sarla Koul and Dr Nitin Gupta.
SDM directed Block Medical Officer (BMO) to conduct enquiry against the doctors and submit the report by Monday, so that action could be initiated against them.
Suresh Sharma also talked to Director Health Services (DHS) Jammu Dr BS Pathania on the spot and sought strict action against the doctors.
