SAMBA, Sept 30: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner, a committee of officers headed by Sub-District Magistrate (SDM) Vijaypur Sonu Pargal conducted surprise visit to Vijaypur and Bari Brahmana towns for checking of food items, eatables and sweetmeat.
SDM was accompanied by Asstt Director, CAPD, Tehsildars, Asstt Controller, Legal Metrology, Tehsil Supply Officer and Designated Officer, Food Safety and carried out the inspection of restaurants, dhabas and shops for maintaining the wholesome quality of food items and also for checking of rates to avoid any overcharging and adulteration.
The team imposed fine on the defaulters for using domestic LPG cylinders in the shops/establishments as well as for not displaying the rate list of commodities.
