SCLU leaders visit Kalakote coal mines

JAMMU, Oct 30: State Central Labour Union (SCLU) office bearers including Nar Singh its provincial president, Karan Singh, senior vice president, Deep Mehra provincial secretary and other members toured tehsil Kalakote in district Rajouri to take the stock of coal mines there and assess the problems of workers.
The team interacted with the coal workers and listened their demands. The workers demanded that mining engineers be appointed, wages be enhanced from Rs 150 to Rs 200 per day, implementation of SRO 43, 90 percent DA be provided to workers, COLA and pending arrears of 6th Pay Commission be released, casual workers working in offices be categorized as ministerial staff, allotment of residential quarters to workers and proper provisions of safety measures be taken.
