Schumer game to take polygraph to prove her jokes are original

LOS ANGELES, Jan 21: Comedy star Amy Schumer says she is ready to take a polygraph test to prove that she has not stolen her jokes from anywhere or anyone.
The 34-year-old “Trainwreck” star was hit with the claims of alleged similarities between her jokes and that of three comedians Wendy Liebman, Kathleen Madigan and Tammy Pescatelli, who took to Twitter to discuss the topic, said The Hollywood Reporter.
“I would never, ever do that and I never have. I’m literally going to take a polygraph test and put it on my show this season, and I promise, whatever the results are- I won’t let them cut— I will show that I had never, never seen Patrice do that bit. I had definitely never seen Tammy Pescatelli do that,” Schumer told fellow comedian Jim Norton on his SiriusXM advice show.
The Twitter discussion began when Liebman noted similarities between a joke she told in the ’90s and one Schumer used in her HBO special. However, the thread was quickly deleted off social media.
This is not the first time Schumer has been hit with such claims. In October, critics saw alleged similarities between the jokes of comedian Patrice O’Neal and material of Schumer’s HBO special, “Amy Schumer: Live at the Apollo”. (PTI)
