JAMMU, Apr 25: A deputation of School Principals Forum, headed by Ram Parkash, called on Navin K Choudhary, Commissioner Secretary Finance Department and submitted him a charter of demands with regards to pay anomaly/ revision of pay scale of Plus 2 Principal of School Education Department.
The Forum submitted a comparative of various cadres like Health and Medical Education department, Medical Officer in ISM, Veterinary Surgeon and features of 10+2. From the comparison of various grades, the Forum explained how a cadre with a service of 20-25 years, is promoted as Principal without availing the benefit of time bound/Running grades. “The entry level pay scales of college lecturer and +2 lectures prior to 6th Pay Commission was 8000-13,500 and the pay as scale of +2 Principal was Rs 9000- 1400. However, after the implementation of 6th Pay Commission, Principals are in the pay scale 15600- 39100 with a grade pay of 5600 whereas college lecturer has a pay grade of 6000, which becomes 7000, after 6 years. School Principal has same qualification, M Sc, M Phil and Ph D. They are getting lower grade after the service of 20-25 years in comparison to college lecturer who gets the same at entry level,” the Forum elaborated.
The finance sectary gave a patient heaving to the deputation and submitted the case to Director Finance Codes.
The deputation comprised of Dalbir Singh, Nand Kishore, Vinod Koul, Dr Subash Sharma, Dr V S Sharma, Uttam Kohli, Rashpal Singh and Swarn Singh.
