JAMMU, Sept 27: School Education Officers’ Association (Headmaster Cadre) today discussed their demands in a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of its president, Paramjit Singh.
While addressing the largely attended meeting, Paramjit Singh showed his anguish over the dilly dallying tactics of higher ups in the department in conceding the long pending demands of school officers (Headmaster Cadre).
He said that the association apprised the concerned higher ups time and again regarding their just and genuine demands but nothing has been done so far to redress their issues.
The demands of the association are regularization of all incharge officers (Headmasters, Principals, ZEOs and equivalent), treating the officers who render their services during vacation as non-vacational at par with their counterparts, extending the grade of 9300-34800 with the grade pay 5400 to Headmasters at par with Plus 2 Lecturers by removing anomaly and increase in promotion quota of Headmasters from 20% to 50% while promoting as Principal, change of nomenclature from Headmaster to Principal Secondary School and increasing posts of Senior Headmasters to 33% at par with Plus 2 Lecturers.
Alleging that before December 30, 2010 the posts of DEPOs and Deputy CEOs were given to the officers, who were promoted from the cadre of Headmasters, the meeting demanded that the same be restored back and posts of DEPOs and Deputy CEOs be given to those who are promoted from Headmaster cadre.
The association also demanded sanctioning of new posts of ZEPOs to fill up the vacant posts. The association appealed the State Education Minister to personally intervene and resolve the issues confronting the school education officers at an earliest.
