JAMMU, June 22: School Education Officer’s Association expressed anguish over the dilly dallying tactics of the higher-ups for not conceding the long demands of the Headmaster cadre.
Addressing a press conference, Paramjit Singh, president of the association said that the association apprised higher-ups about their demands, but nothing has been done so far.
He highlighted various demands including regularization of incharge officers i.e Headmasters, Principals, ZEOs and equivalent, officer rendering their services during vacation be treated as non-vocational at par with their counterparts, grade of Rs 9300-34800 with the pay grade 5400 be given to headmasters at par with plus 2 lecturers by removing anomaly, increase in promotional quota of headmasters from 20 per cent to 50 per cent while promoting as principal, change of nomenclature from headmaster to principal secondary school, post of senior headmasters be increased to 33 per cent at par with plus 2 lecturers and new posts of ZEPOs be sanctioned to fill up the vacant posts.
The association appealed the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister to personally intervene and resolve the issues confronting the school education officers at the earliest.
Among others present were Kulwant Singh, chief organisor, Sushila Sharma and Prem Lal, general secretaries, Ram Rekha, vice president, Rajinder Singh, Ex-ZEO, Kuldeep Langeh, ex-president, etc.
