School Education Act

Sir,
This has reference to the news  item ‘School Education Act 2013 envisages free, compulsory education upto 8th’ DE Sept. 20.
The education set-up in the State is right now facing many problems and challenges. These problem areas need to be removed at the earliest to make quality education available to students in the State. In this backdrop, the decision of the State Government to invite opinions of intellectuals, students educationists and other over the  draft policy on right of children to free and compulsory education upto 8th Class is more than welcome.
The valuable suggestions thus submitted should be incorporated in the draft to make it more meaningful. In this context, it is necessary that the stakeholders take part in this exercise actively and not leave it solely to the direction of drafting committee.
The draft policy once framed should be fully implemented. In case that does not happen, it will lose relevance and the  education sector will suffer further.
Yours etc…
