Scholarship, special reward granted for wards of serving, deceased police personnel

SRINAGAR, Sept 2: To promote merit and provide assistance the Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh IPS has granted scholarship of Rs.1.25 lakh in favour of school going wards of deceased police personnel for the academic session 2018-19 and 2019-20.
DGP has also sanctioned special reward of Rs 1 lakh in favour of wards of serving police personnel for cracking different Competitive Examination during the year 2019.
Rs 5000 each has been granted as scholarship to 25 school going wards of those deceased police personnel who died while in service due to natural/accident deaths. The scholarship has been granted out of Central Police Welfare Fund.
Those awarded scholarship include 10 students of Nursery and Primary classes, 15 students of middle and higher secondary classes.
Meanwhile, recognizing the academic achievements of police wards, special reward of Rs 1 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of wards of serving police personnel for qualifying different Competitive Examination during the year 2019.
Rs 10,000 each along with Commendation Certificate Class-1 has been granted in favour of 10 police wards for qualifying different competitive examinations.
Those who have been awarded special reward for qualifying MBBS include Khursheed Ahmad Mir, Aieen Rafiq Mir, Umair Nawaz, Arieb Farooq Khan, Asma Hamid, Mariya Mushtaq and Varun Khanna. Three wards Zeeshan Nisar, Hidayat Rashid and Mubashir Syeed has been rewarded for cracking JEE (Main) 2019.
To boost the morale of aspiring wards of martyrs, serving/retired police personnel and wards of deceased police personnel, Police Headquarters under different heads is sanctioning meritorious scholarship and rewards for police wards qualifying different examinations from time to time so as to promote competitiveness among them.
