The Supreme Court today sought a reply from the Centre by January 29 for the reasons that had forced it to impose President’s Rule in the state of Arunachal Pradesh.
The next date of hearing will be February 2, a Constitution bench, headed by Justice JS Khehar, ruled. Earlier in the day, the Apex Court had sought a report of the Governor, Jyoti Prasad Rajkhowa, on the basis of which Central Rule was imposed in the sensitive border state. It had sought the report within 15 minutes. (UNI)
