JAMMU, June 26: All Jammu and Kashmir Hilly District SC Coordination Committee Pouni ( Reasi) held protest near Press Club here, opposing inter-district recruitment of the SC category.
The members of the SC community from hilly areas under the banner of Coordination Committee assembled at the Exhibition Ground near Press Club today and held brief protest demonstration. The speakers during the protest alleged that the members from the community from these belts were facing discrimination.
They urged upon the Government to put ban on the inter-district recruitment process for the SC category. They said that after this process was started in 2010, since then youth of the hilly districts like Ramban, Doda, Reasi, Udhampur, Rajouri and Poonch are suffering. These are educationally backward districts and the youth can not compete with the youth from forwards districts like Jammu, Samba Kathua. Therefore, only meritorious candidates from these hilly districts get selected while those from others advanced districts over shadow them. They demanded that this process be stopped.
