NEW DELHI: In a major relief to medical aspirants, the Supreme Court on Thursday allowed undergraduate medical students aged 25 years and above to appear for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2019.
A bench of the Apex Court, headed by Justice S A Blonde, however, said that their admission will be subjected to the final outcome of the case on validity of CBSE decision to fix upper age limit. “We allow the petitions,” the Top Court said in its interim order.
As the last date to fill up the forms will expire on Friday, the Supreme Court also directed the National Testing Agency to extend the last date by another week. “I am very happy that I can appear for the test. Let us see the final outcome.” Deepak Kumar Singh (25), a NEET aspirant said after the Apex Court interim order. (AGENCIES)
