JAMMU, Mar 11: For entertainment of Armymen at Northern Command Udhampur, the State Bank of India organized theatre performance at Dhruv Complex Udhampur.
Separate shows were organized for JCOs and senior officers. Lt General K T Parnaik among senior Army officers enjoyed the show, which was organized by SBI Chandigarh Circle with the active support of staff of SBI Chinar Compound, Udhampur.
The theatre performance, titled `Hai Mera Dil’ by a noted Mumbai group ANK and production of late Dinesh Thakur, was a minute comedy about a husband who believes that he has an incurable ailment. Under the impression that he would die soon, the man get busy with making arrangements for the future after his death, including the re-marriage of his wife. The wife begins to suspect her husband of infidelity and a comedy of errors ensues.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashwani Bhatia, General Manager SBI Chandigarh Circle, apprised the audience about the bank’s continued bonding with the Armed forces. Where the Army goes, the Bank follows, be it the harshest climate regions of Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh or the border area of Punjab and Haryana, he said.
On the occasion, the SBI GM also handed over keys of a Battery Car, donated by the bank to Military Hospital Udhampur. Besides the keys, a cherub of Rs 115000 was also handed over to Lt Gen Parnaik for AWWA Asha School Udhampur for Physiotherapy equipments for differently abled children.
