JAMMU, Dec 19: In order to empower its customers through technology, State Bank of India (SBI) today launched Tech Learning Centres (TLCs).
Mr Rajesh Anand, Regional Manager, R B O-2 Jammu, inaugurated the Bank’s new initiative at SBI’s Trikuta Nagar branch here.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Anand stated that although there was significant growth in transactions through alternate channels of banking, it was felt that many customers will visit branches for their routine transactions because they feel electronic channels are complex or risky.
In the TLC Session of about 90 minutes, customers were explained features of various alternate channels, shown live demo and were briefed about the security aspects of each channel.
Anand also informed that SBI is committed to offering latest technology based solutions to the customers on continuous basis. By March 2015, there is a plan to install 4000 additional cash-recyclers which serve the twin purpose of cash deposit & withdrawal. With these installations, SBI group will have an expanded network of 52,791 ATMS+CDMs+ Recyclers, he added.
The online SBI portal and mobile apps are constantly upgraded to include more and more value added services. SBI’s robust -e- banking & payment gate way platform is facilitating over four crore -e- commerce transactions per month making State Bank a major player in this space, he said.
He appealed the customers to make the best use of TLCs to enjoy banking in a safe, convenient and 24X 7 environment.
