A good initiative towards generating awareness at university education levels, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has directed all universities to ensure constituting such bodies of students which could effectively carry and convey the message of “Say no to drugs”. Such student bodies are required to be called as “Say no to drugs student bodies”. Any move in the shape of awareness, prevention, precaution, seizures, raids, arrests and conviction and the like are needed jointly and severally in fighting the horrendous drugs trafficking and associated hazards. Awareness, that also in the educational institutions of this nature , is definitely a welcome system as it is the students community which is most vulnerable. More welcome on the basis of providing of financial assistance from Union Ministry of Social Justice to enable such student bodies fight a war against drugs.
Drugs are poison eating into the vitals of the human body slowly but effectively, posing a grave danger to one’s life, avocation, economic condition, family and social relations and numerous other related factors and, therefore, need to be tackled very effectively. The one under reference is one of such measures.
