Plastic bags or poly bags are the greatest threat to the environment. It is a misfitting invention in the hands of those people who use them in a variety of ways for carrying fruits, vegetables and variety of shopping products. They are harmful for the environment as they make the environs dirty. They are unclean andmake the surroundings unclean.
In this context attention of the readers is drawn to river Tawi, which has become a big bin of poly bags. People throw them here and there and have made Tawi a massive dustbin. If this attitude of Jammuites will continue then a day would come that we’ll get devoid of fresh water.
River Tawi which is the heart and soul of Jammu District of J&K State will surely become poisonous.
To avoid this catastrophe Jammuites are very lucky that the authorities concerned have introduced the use of jute bags. Jute bags are not only attractive but possess all those qualities that a good carrier bag should have.
Jute bags are awesome, lovely and pretty. They are strong enough to carry our shopping materials. Moreover, they have given a huge boon to cottage industry. People manufacture them at homes and earn many bucks. They come in variety of colours-red, blue, yellow etc.
Paper bags can be recycled. So, increase the use of paper bags.
