Sir,
Only a few years back, the pride of Jammu Tawi was seen neat and clean with surroundings neither full of garbage nor with vehicles being washed etc. Now, this river has simply become a dumping ground of polythene bags, plastic wastes, pollutant drains and so on.The time is not far when it shall lose its pride and relevance unless remedial steps for its cleansing and beautification are undertaken. De-silting and other measures to have flow of water smooth is required with technical treatment. Unauthorised structures sprung up on its banks need to be dismantled which calls for a pragmatic administrative initiative. Let both the Government and the public jointly participate in saving and preserving the river so dear to us.
Yours etc….
