JAMMU, Feb 25: The Save Sharda Committee Kashmir has once again urged the Government to open the Sharda Corridor, akin to the Kartarpur Corridor, facilitating access to the historic Sharda Peeth in Pakistan-Occupied Jammu Kashmir (PoJK).
Addressing a press conference in Prayagraj, the Committee’s head emphasized that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had assured during his recent meeting with Sringeri Shankaracharya Vidushekhara Bharati at the Kumbh Mela that the Government is actively working towards this goal.
The Committee called upon all Shankaracharya followers to collectively demand the reopening of Sharda Peeth, a revered ancient temple and center of learning for Hindus.
Speaking at the briefing, Ravinder Pandita, president of the All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS), also stressed the urgent need for the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits. He urged the Government to establish a temple and shrine board until the Temples Bill is introduced and passed in the Jammu & Kashmir Assembly.
