Save dying ponds

Sir,
With regard to the World Water Day on 22nd March, I wish to invite attention of the concerned Ministry in Jammu and Kashmir towards the fact that most of the Talabs (Water Bodies) of Jammu region which once used to be its life line, have dried or have been occupied and just a few which are left are dying and no care is being taken toward preserving or rejuvenating these natural water bodies to save the water bed of Jammu. Will the CCDU, who is spending lakhs on advertisements in news papers and electronic media, take notice and activate its machinery to recover and re-activate these water bodies and rather than spending on unnecessary things, utilise its resources on the ground to benefit the whole area?
Besides, we have a huge potential on the north eastern side of Jammu in the Nandini hill range where small dams could be built to retain the rain water for a longer time which I am sure will give boost to the water level of the whole Jammu range. These dams will create small lakes which can be utilised for Tourism Activities subject to urgent attention and proper planning.
Yours etc….
