JAMMU, Dec 19: Commissioner Secretary Labour and Employment Saurabh Bhagat today convened a meeting to review the functioning of Employees State Insurance Corporation.
Labour Commissioner A. R. War, Director Finance, Regional Director A.K. Rawat, Deputy Director Planning and AMO Arun Kumar besides other concerned attended the meeting.
Labour Commissioner, who is also ex-officio Director ESI, briefed the Commissioner Secretary that eight dispensaries are functioning in J&K which includes four in Kathua, Bari Barhamana, Digana and Talab Tillo in Jammu division and four in Rangreth, Khoimoh, Bagh Ali Mardan and Zainakote in Kashmir division.
The meeting was informed that a proposal is in place to increase the service area by starting nine more dispensaries and an ambitious target of adding one lakh new Insured Persons (IPs) to the existing 2.52 lakh were identified.
The scheme covers 100% reimbursement of medicines, medical expenditure in empanelled hospital including referral to tertiary care hospital and additionally providing various insurance covers for death and disabilities to IPs.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner Secretary directed Regional Director to use intensive campaign(IEC) on mission mode to increase membership under the scheme.
He appreciated the strenuous efforts of the Department and directed the officers to deepen and synergize the efforts to achieve the target of cent per cent coverage in J&K.
