JAMMU, Sept 19:  Provincial president of Women Wing of National Conference, Satwant Kour Dogra today criticized Government for failing to provide basic amenities to the people.
Addressing a deputation from Purmandal, which called on her at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan here today, Satwant Kour criticized the Government for ignoring the development of rural areas and said that the problems of the people have accumulated during the past six months and the insensitive Government was just playing politics instead of solving these problems. She said that the condition of roads is becoming bad to worse and the Government is not paying any attention to construct, repair or maintain such roads.
Citing examples of Mansar and Sumb Roads in Samba, she said that both these roads are full of potholes and need reconstruction along with culverts and bridges wherever necessary to mitigate the suffering of thousands of souls living in these areas.
Referring to the erratic power supply, the Women Wing chief cited example of Samba where people are getting only 5-6 hours of electric supply which is not enough even to charge the invertors. She cautioned Government not to test the patience of people.
