JAMMU, Oct 3: Provincial president of Women Wing of National Conference, Satwant Kaur Dogra, today charged the BJP leadership with failure on all fronts and accused the party of misleading Jammu people with false statements for diverting attention of people from the real issues of public interests.
She was addressing a gathering of women workers in Mohalla Dalpathian, Ward No 5 Jammu. The meeting was organised by provincial vice president of Women Wing, Manveer Kaur.
Speaking on the occasion, Satwant Kaur alleged that the common-man was bearing the brunt of the BJP-PDP Coalition Government which had brought developmental works throughout the State to a grinding halt. “Employees are without their salaries, people are suffering from the lack of supply of power, drinking water, ration, old age pensions, MNREGA payments and there is no sign of rehabilitation of firing victims and the reconstruction of public infrastructure that is destroyed in the cross LoC firing. The common man has to run from pillar to post for the Government to even acknowledge his grievances as Ministers and MLAs of the ruling dispensation have turned a blind eye towards the miseries of the common-man”, the Women Wing president said.
Stressing that Women have to play a key role in bringing out a change that will usher in an era of political accountability and performance audit for all parties, Satwant Dogra said that women and youth need to be empowered to find solutions to economic, social and political problems.
National Conference alone can unite all three regions of the State and defeat sinister designs of communalism and division, she added.
Senior NC leaders Veena Oberio, Satya Jamwal, Manveer Kaur, Reeta Gupta, Pinky Bhatt, Rekha Manhas, Asha Mehra, Anju Grover, Neeru Kaul and Rakhi Gandotra also spoke on the occasion.
