JAMMU, July 5: Promoting the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and providing good sanitation system to the residents of Jammu West, State president, BJP and MLA Sat Sharma (CA) started construction works of a community toilet under “Swach Bharat Mission” at Janipur Chowk near SDM Office. Accompanied by a large number of people, Sharma started the works in the presence of JMC (Jammu Municipal Corporation) officials, locals and political activists of the area.
The works will be constructed under the supervision of JMC at an estimated cost of around Rs 10.50 lakh and it includes two bathrooms, five water closets, one urinal block and one care taker room.
Addressing the gathering, Sat Sharma said that keeping in view the demands of the general public especially women and people who pass through the area, the construction of a full fledge toilet was must in order to provide a good sanitation system to the masses. He said that the initiative taken by Prime Minister to make a clean and green nation is one of its own kind and each and every person must contribute to attain this mission so that by year 2019, India should become clean and green under the mission of “Swach Bharat”.
Executive Engineer Central Division, Parvodh Sharma, AEE JP Saraf, Kuldeep Magotra, Ex- Corporator Darshana Bandral, Mandal president Vijay Sharma, District president, BJYM Ashish Sharma, Ravish Mengi, Sahil Gupta, Atul Bakshi, Arti Sharma and several others were also present.
