JAMMU, Mar 10: Former State president, BJP and ex Minister Sat Sharma (CA) along with Corporator Ward No. 17, Advocate Nidhi Magotra, Corporator Ward No. 18, Dinesh Gupta and ex-Corporator Balwan Singh today kick-started the construction of community hall near Guru Ravi Das Sabha in Ward No. 17.
They were accompanied by local residents and other BJP leaders of the area. The community hall is to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 11.18 lakh approximately, the amount for which was sanctioned by former Minister during his tenure as MLA through his Constituency Development Fund (CDF). The works will be executed by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), he added.
Speaking on the occasion, former Minister said that it was the long pending demand to construct the hall so that the devotees may not face any difficulty in hot and rainy days. The local residents thanked former Minister for redressing their demand. Sat Sharma said that the prime focus of Narendra Modi led Government is to provide the opportunity to every body live with dignity especially those in the most neglected sections of society which is still untouched and where the people lack proper facilities.
Nidhi Magotra on the occasion thanked the efforts of former Minister and fulfilling this long pending demand. She said that repair works of lanes and drains wherever necessary will also be done along with the ongoing works through the funds sanctioned under stage work by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC). She also mentioned that equitable development of all the areas of the ward is her top priority and she will not rest until it is achieved.
Corporator Dinesh Gupta said that there is an immediate need for every citizen of the country to realize their responsibility and come forward to contribute in the success of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. He asked people to refrain from throwing garbage on streets, public places and open spaces, besides urging them to plant trees so that the coming generations inherit a healthy environment.
Kuldeep Magotra, Sanjeev Sharma, Raghunandan Kumar, Raj Kumar, Vijay Slathia, Hardev Singh, Subash Chander, Aman, Vijay Kumari, Sardar Ravinder Singh Baba, Jagdish Raj and other were present on the occasion.
