Sasan heads SD Sabha, 11 member body elected

POONCH, June 23: The new body of  Sanatan Dharam Sabha district Poonch has been constituted in the general elections held here.
The elections were held under the supervision of District Administration for which five magistrates were deployed. Additional DC Poonch,  Arvind Sharma and SP Poonch Shamsheer Hussain, ASP Amit Gupta closely monitored the election process. Surinder Dutta was Chief Election Commissioner and the results were declared around 10 pm. Total 11 members were declared elected. The polling was held between 8 am and 2 pm and total 3470 members participated out of total 5200 voters.
A noted social activist Satish Sasan was declared elected as present of SD Sabha Poonch. He defeated his nearest rival D N Raina with the margin of nearly 1500 votes. Sasan secured 2250 votes while Mr Raina got around 710 votes. The other ten members declared elected for a three-year term are- Jeevan Sharma, Bhupinder Singh, Ajay Kumar Uttam, Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Sanjiv Kapoor, Ramesh Bali, Hardev Lal, Devinder Sharma, Satish Kumar and Bhagat Raj Bali. Ten more members will be nominated and the total strength of the managing body would be 21, newly elected president Mr Sasan added.
The five officers deployed for the election process by the District Administration included Tehsildar Haveli, DFO Ram Ratan Sharma, Dr Bhalla Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, CHO Poonch and Dy Registrar Cooperatives Poonch. The entire election process was completed smoothly.
