JAMMU, Jan 17: Sarpanchs and Panchs held a protest demonstration at Vijaypur and demanded inclusion of former Minister for Commerce and Industries and senior vice president, National Conference Surjit Singh Slathia into State Cabinet.
The protestors assembled at Gurah Morh, Vijaypur, raised slogans and flayed the Government for excluding Surjit Singh Slathia from the Ministry.
They said that the said Minister worked a lot for the upliftment of the people especially Below Poverty Line (BPL) families and his exclusion from the State Cabinet has created anguish among the masses.
The gathering was addressed by Sarpanchs Yogeshwar Singh, Sadiq Malik, Ghulab Hussain and Mohan Singh Bhatti.
However, former Minister Surjit Singh Slathia on getting information about the protest, rushed to the spot and pacified the protestors.
