SAMBA, Oct 1: Sarpanches and Panches of several Panchayats of Samba district today protested against the district administration over Back to Village Phase 3 and warned to boycott the same till their demand of empowering Panchayats is accepted .
The protest was led by Sarpanch, Ravinder Singh Lablu. He said that the Sarpanches and Panchs of many Panchayats of Samba have boycotted the Back to Village Phase 3 and said that 73rd amendment of Panchayati Raj should be implemented in Jammu and Kashmir so that Panchayats can be empowered.
He said that before announcing Bake to Village Phase 3, the work should be completed which has already been taken in hand and the outstanding payment for the work which has been executed should be released first. He said 21 departments have been assigned the job to empower the Panchayats but they are not giving their full support to Panchayats. Due to which the Panchs and Sarpanches of Samba will not participate in Phase 3rd of B2V. They also submitted a memorandum to District Planning Officer, Samba in this regard.
Sarpanch, Krishna, Sarpanch, Somnath, Sarpanch, Vinod Fhangala, Sarpanch, Asha Devi, Sarpanch, Vimala Devi, Naib Sarpanch, Prithvi Nandan Singh, Panch, Chaman Lal, Panch, Kartar Singh, Mittu Devi, Panch, Des Raj, Panch, Tarachand, Panch, Bindu Devi, Panch, Karnail Singh, Panch, Subhash Singh and social worker, Sandeep Sharma also participated in the protest.
