KISHTWAR, June 22: Former Minister and Vice President, Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Ghulam Mohammed Saroori visited Thathri and Sarthal areas of Inderwal Assembly constituency of the hilly districts.
During his visit, Mar Saroori held interaction with the locals and listened to their grievances while assuring them full support.
Most of the people were concerned about incomplete water supply schemes by PHE Departments which needs to be completed timely under Jal Jeevan in Block Drabshalla and Thathri as the administration had earlier set target of July 2020 for the completion in these block whereas only 5 percent work has been completed till date.
“The remote areas have been facing shortage of drinking water. The authorities should depute field staff regularly to Drabshalla and Thathri ensuring implementation of schemes and ensure that the supply is made to the poor people,” Saroori demanded.
Saroori also demanded regularization of more than one lakh daily wagers, and casual labourers in all the Government departments. “The Government should regularize their services because majority of them have completed more than 7 years of services,” he stressed and also demanded that Minimum Wage Act should be implemented in Jammu and Kashmir so that these casual labourers and daily wagers may get the honorable wages.
Meanwhile, Saroori also informed people about deadly virus Covid-19 and the precautions, which need to be taken by the people. Interacting with the locals, he informed them that they should wear face masks and clean their hands repeatedly with water and soap.
Furthermore, Saroori also visited many houses in the areas to offer condolences to the bereaved families, whose family members had passed away recently.
