Sant Ram remembered on birth anniversary

JAMMU, Feb 14: Sant Ram BA Education and Welfare Society J&K here today organised a convention at Ravidas Sabha, Bishnah on 139th birth anniversary of Sant Ram.
Dr. Vardani Prajapati, Additional Director, Rural Development, UP Government (retired), was chief guest while Dr. Kanwal Kishore Prajapati, (Ph.D on Santram BA) from Haryana, Dr. Ajay Singh Verma, Professor, Hoshiarpur Technical University and Surendra Prajapati Indachhui, Director & Head ‘Vidyaratan Education Society’ were guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, FC Satia, chairman of the Society said that Santram B.A was a prominent Hindi writer, social reformer and anti-caste activist.
He was a prolific writer and authored over 100 booklets including works advocating Hindu-Muslim unity.
The chief guest and guests of honour were honoured with a shawl and portrait of Sant Ram. Note Books were distributed to participating students on this occasion and the Society also constituted its J&K unit with F.C Satia chairman; Vijay Prajapati and Dr Ashok Baldotra, both vice chairmen; Jagdish Raj Prajapati, secretary; K.C Satia, Assistant Secretary; GR Dafara, chief adviser and Dr. Nek Ram Prajapati, cashier. Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion were Ashoka Basotra, Sham Lal Bassan, Bansi Lal Choudhary; Balwant Kataria, Sunita Bangotra, R.D Thappa, Girdhari Lal, Mehar Singh, Ramesh Chander, Mohd. Shabir Sambyal, Mukhteyar Kalia, R.K Chalotra, G.R Dafaara, Dr. Harjit Kumar, Kewal Krishan Fotra, Joginder Angotra, Om Kataria, Madhu Bala, Ashok Baldotra and Ramesh Chander Kaith.
Stage was managed by Jagdish Prajapati and while vote of thanks was delivered by Ramesh Chander.
