JAMMU, May 26: Sant Mela Singh College of Education, Digiana celebrated its annual day function, here today.
On the occasion, Mahant Manjit Singh presided over the function, while Kavinder Gupta, Speaker, Assembly was the chief guest. Rangil Singh, Chairman, MBS College of Engineering and Technology was the guest of honour.
The function began with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Mahant Manjit Singh and other dignitaries.
Dr Kiran Kuthra, Principal of the college presented annual report highlighting various curricular and co-curricular activities conducted during the session.
A colourful cultural programme including gidda, Dogri dance, Kashmiri dance, Rajasthani folk dance, Punjabi song and solo songs were presented by the students, which were highly applauded by the audience with thundering applauses.
The college magazine “Pupil-Teacher” was also released by Mahant Manjit Singh and all the dignitaries.
Prize distribution function was also organized, wherein prizes and mementoes were given away to the winners of the college.
Mahant Manjit Singh while speaking stressed upon the pupil teachers to work hard and prepare themselves to take up the teaching assignments quite effectively in future. He also stressed upon them to uphold the moral values in social life.
Among others present were Prof Anmol Singh, Chairman of the college, Dr Nater Singh, Chairman, Sant Rocha Singh Degree College, Dr SPS Dutta, Prof Emeritus, University of Jammu, Prem Singh, Retd Chief Conservator of Forests, Satinder Singh Bijral, Retd IG and Lakhbir Singh Bawa.
