JAMMU, Aug 3: Director of Central Sanskrit University, Shri Ranbir Campus, Prof Madan Mohan Jha today informed that the campus has planned to celebrate Sanskrit week this year on a large scale.
Addressing a press conference on the campus, Prof Madan Mohan Jha said that every year Sanskrit week would be organized from August 8 to 14 in connection with Sanskrit Day, which falls on Rakshabandhan (Shravani Purnima).
“This time the function will be organized under the joint aegis of Central Sanskrit University, Shri Ranbir Campus, Jammu, Srikailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust, Jammu, Chudamani Sanskrit Sansthan, Basohli and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Gurukul, Katra,” he informed.
The ceremony will be inaugurated on August 8 at 11:00 AM with a procession, which will start from Raghunath Bazar and culminate after reaching Parade Ground via Old Mandi. Deputy Inspector General of Police, Shakti Pathak will be present as the chief guest on the occasion.
On August 10, a procession will be taken out from the main office of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Katra to Banganga which will be flagged off by Anshul Garg, Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board. Shravani Upakarma and Veeti Natak will be organized on August 11 on Chenab river bank, Akhnoor. After that a Sanskrit procession will be taken out from the temple located near Chenab to the Kameshwar temple.
