RAJOURI,  June 1:  The students  from  Sankari village and adjoining areas of Kotranka held protest against Tata Sumo operators  for over charging and blocked road for over one and half hours today.
Reports said that students and locals of the area came out on the road near Sankari  and raised barricades. They  were shouting slogans against Traffic Police,  ARTO Rajouri and Tata Sumo operators. They alleged that  distance between Rajouri and Peeri  hardly 14-15 kms and Sumo operators are charging Rs 50 per passenger. Even they charge Rs 50 from the passengers who travel half way or 7-8 kms.  Students are also being charged the same fare.
They alleged that neither District Administration nor ARTO Rajouri  or Traffic Police takes cognizance of the matter. Later,  ARTO Rajouri reached there and he pacified the youth. He assured them to  take note of the issue. The students then lifted dharna after one and half hour.
