JAMMU, Oct 16: A ‘Sandhya Aarti’ was organized today at Jio Pota Ghat in Akhnoor to pay tributes to Uri martyrs.
The program was organized under the aegis of ‘Sandhya Aarti Committee ‘ Akhnoor and attended by a large number of people of Akhnoor town and its adjacent areas.
Sham Lal Sharma, senior vice president, JKPCC and former Minister, was the chief guest on the occasion. While paying tributes to Uri martyrs, Sham said that Pakistan has been indulging in infiltration and pushing trained terrorists into Indian Territory, with a sole motive of disturbing peace and the people should understand the evil designs of neighbour country.
He said that the soldiers who got martyrdom will remain to serve as a source of inspiration and induce a commitment to serve the motherland at any cost. The former Minister said that they should stand united for the Nation and support their brave soldiers due to whose vigil we people feel secured.
He said, “Vote bank politics has reached new lows and society is being divided. I want to tell those who divide the nation in the name of secularism to see real secularism in the Army. We can learn the true essence of secularism from our armed forces and I salute our armed forces for upholding the ‘Pride and honour of secularism.”
He further said that they shouldn’t politicize the Army action for their personal gains. “The fact that Pakistan has been sponsoring terrorism has been proved time and again in all the terrorist attacks in the country”, he said and asked Pakistan to embrace the path of peace and leave the path of bombs because it has not done any good to the people, especially the youth and the poor.
After conclusion of the Aarti, two-minutes silence was also observed to pay tributes to Uri martyrs.
It was also prayed that the soul of martyrs may rest in peace and God may give strength to their families to bear this irreparable loss.
