BASHOLI, June 6: People of village Sandhar near here are facing acute scarcity of drinking water as for the last 17 days there has been no water supply in the area due to technical snag in the supply motor at the pumping station.
Locals of Sandhar informed that water supply to their hamlet is made after lifting water from Chiril Nala but the motor at the lifting station has been damaged for the last many days which has increased problems in the village.
“The filter plant also does not work due to which the people in our village are supplied unhygienic water which is not safe for health,” Gandharab Singh, a local informed.
Other residents of the village informed that they have to travel a long distance to get water from a spring in buckets and cans and this has now become a routine in the village.
Sarpanch Kalyan Singh and prominent residents of the village including Mahadev Singh, Govind Singh and others have informed that they have brought the matter into the notice of concerned authorities but so far no progress has been made in resolving the issue and the village with over 250 families continues to bear the brunt of apathy of the concerned authorities.
They also said that if cognizance of the problem is not taken soon and water supply to the village is not made then they will come on roads.
