Sanctioning of new Degree College at Neeli Nallah a boon to youth: Pawan

UDHAMPUR, Jan 15: Pawan Kumar Gupta, Ex-MLA Udhampur, has said that sanctioning of new Degree College at Neeli Nallah would greatly help students of Udhampur and adjoining areas to pursue their higher education.
While addressing a press conference at Udhampur, Mr Gupta said that the Governor’s administration has acceded his pressing demand for sanction of a new Degree College at Neeli Nallah (Udhampur) which will prove a boon to youths of Udhampur and its adjoining areas.
“Due to limited intake capacity, the existing PG Degree College and Women Degree college at Udhampur, presently having strength of more than 300 students each, are proving insufficient to cater need of densely populated Udhampur city and adjoining areas as a result of which majority of poor students are forced to opt for colleges in other parts of the State or to abandon their studies in midway,” he explained.
Mr Gupta further divulged that the newly sanctioned college at Neeli Nalah, Udhampur will be advantageous for the students drawn from more than 30 Panchayats of Udhampur and Reasi Constituency viz. Patta Kotli, Barolla, Neeli Nallah, Upper Hartaryan, Sunari, Jib-A, Jib-B, Kambal Danga, Chak, Padanoo-Kalta, Seen Thakran, Samole, Lehnu, Tikri, Mand East, Mand West, Malhar-A, Malhar-B, Upper Rehmbal, Lower Rehmbal-I, Lower Rehmbal-II, Khartiar, Garnai, Seen Brahmana, Dhanu, Chiryai, Muttal, Jangal Gali and Jassar Kote.
Giving details of introduction of new courses in existing Colleges at Udhampur, Mr Gupta stated that during previous regime, he got introduced 18 and 12 new courses at PG Degree College and Women Degree College Udhampur, respectively. Besides, he added with an intent to boost infrastructure, a College Students Bus worth Rs 20 lakh was donated out of CDF while 12 additional rooms with an estimated cost of Rs 7 crores were got sanctioned at Women Degree College, Udhampur.
Earlier a large number of people drawn from Jib area called on Mr Gupta and expressed their thanks for his tireless efforts in fulfilling their long pending demand of Degree College at Neeli Nallah.
Among others, Rohit Sethi, Kewal Sharma, Raj Kumar, Mohan Lal, Nasib Singh, Master Kapoor Chand, Sarpanch Shashi Sharma, Ex-Sarpanch Lal Chand, Sarpanch Pritam Singh, Noor Hussain, Bashir Ahmed, Mohd Hussain and Sober Ali were present on the occasion.
