JAMMU, Dec 24: The high tempo of literary activities by Samprati, the organization of Kashmiri writers, has contributed to the creation of quality literature by bringing the literary geniuses together and providing them a regular platform for interaction with the audience. This was stated by Prof M K Muju, while presiding over the dignified literary program Mushaira organized by Samprati at K L Saigal Hall here today. The multilingual Mushaira was dedicated to the late Omkaar Raanaa. Senior poet B K Sanyaasii was the guest of honour.
President Samprati, Dr R L Bhat, while dedicating the programme to the memory of the late lamented poet and member of Samprati, spoke of the qualitites of head and heart, the sensitivity and dedication, he possessed. The proceedings of day were conducted by Dr.Roshan Saraf well known as Roshe Roshe, in his characteristically adroit way.
The programme began with Omkaar Raanaa’s memory presiding over the first part. Over two hours of soul-filling recitations the literary meet wove a somber ambience in song and rhythm rendered in the respective languages. The poets who recited their poems in English, Kashmiri Hindi and Urdu included Raaj Kumari, Ratna Ji, Kanya Lal, Dr Jawahar Bhat, A K Naaz, Shiban Khaibri, A K Sahar Gaandarbali, Maharaj K Maharaj, Kanwal Peshin, A K Zaadduu, B L Arpan, Pradeep Koul Khodbali, Bhushan Malmohi, Satish Kaul Safeer, T N Vishwas, Shyam Bihari, Rajender Aagosh, Raj Kumari Razdan, Kusum Dhar, Kundan Paaras, Bimla Aima, Dr. R L Bhat, B N Abhilaash, Ashok Gowhar, P N Shad, B K Sanyaasii, Dr. Roshan Saraf.
Among those who took part in the first part included Dr R L Bhat, M K Maharaj, A K Sahar, P N Shad. Family members of late Omkaar Raanaa also participated in the meet. Among the other dignitaries present included Padma M L Kemu, Prof P N Trisal, Prof H L Misri, Makhan Lal Saraf and Shiban Tiku. Vote of thanks was presented by Kundan Paaras, secretary Samprati.
