Samba Sports Club wins in Football, Kathua Clubs script victories in Cricket

JAMMU, Feb 28: Samba Sports Football Club and Kathua Cricket Clubs  registered emphatic wins over their rivals in the ongoing “JKS Range level Sports Festival”, which is being organized by Range Police Headquarters Jammu under Civic Action Program at Parade Ground here.
In today’s football matches, Pawan Parihar, SSP SO to DIG Jammu was the chief guest who was introduced with the participating teams on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, the chief guest advised the participating teams to not to indulge in drugs or other allied evils and play sports for fit and healthy life.
Earlier in the Football event Samba Sports Club defeated Jammu Bethel Club by 1-0 goal, while in the second match Samba Sports Club drubbed Ranbir School Jammu via tie-breaker by 4-3 goals.
In Cricket event, in the first match Bilad Club kathua defeated Samba Cricket Eleven.
Batting first, B C kathua scored 166 runs for the loss of 7 wickets  in 20 overs, with Raghu (60) , Bhawani (23) and  Shubdeep  (21) being the main scorers.
From bowling side, Abhi took 3 wickets, Vinay bagged 2, while Ajaz and Wasim shared 1 wicket each.
Samba Club, in reply, could not chase the target and made only 98 runs in 19.3 overs, thus lost the match by 68 runs. Shivam (16), Sameer (15) and Harsh (14) were the main scorers.
From bowling side, Vishal took 5 wickets, Satyam, Ankush and Manmeet claimed 1 wicket each. Vishal was adjudged man of the match.
In second match Blaster Club Kathua trounced MIER Jammu in an easy contest.
Batting first, Blaster Club scored 151 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs, with Sanampreet (56), Nikhal (25)  and Nishank (15) being the main scorers.
From bowling side Nityam, Surinder and Rohit took 2 wickets each, Hanny took 1 wicket .
In reply, MIER school made 132 runs  in 19.2 overs, thus lost the match by 19 runs.  Snoop 33, Anuj 26 and Harihan 18 were the main scorers.
From bowling side, Nitin took 4 wickets, Sanjay, Abhay, Adihyan and Sanampreet  shared 1 wicket each. Sanampreet was adjudged man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Saleem-Ur-Rehman, Sadiq Hussain, Ashok, Sanju and Sandeep.
