SAMBA, Aug 10: Samba police has solved a blind murder case registered at Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana, arrested the accused persons and recovered weapon of offence. Police has also seized the vehicle used in the commission of crime.
Police said on November 1 last year, the night of Diwali, a stabbing incident in the industrial area was reported at Police Station, Bari Brahmana. Acting swiftly, police team reached the spot and found that a person identified as Sushil Singh Manhas, son of Dhyan Singh (29) of Smailpur, tehsil Bari Brahmana had been stabbed by some unknown persons who fled away from the spot after the commission of crime.
Police said the injured person was taken to GMC Jammu where he was declared as ‘brought dead’ by the doctors.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 149/2024 under Section 103(1) BNS was registered at Police Station, Bari Brahmana and investigation was taken up.
Police said during the course of investigation, a police team headed by SHO PS, Bari Brahmana under the supervision of SDPO, Bari Brahmana and under the overall supervision of SSP Samba after continuous efforts, identified and arrested a suspect namely Jalil Nutt, son of Aas Mohd of Mahaicha district Gopalganj, Bihar, from his native State.
Upon sustained questioning, he revealed the name of one more accused in the instant case. The co-accused has been identified as Mohd Azad, son of Mohd Vashir, of MejarGanj Mohali Mandal, district Sitamarhi, Bihar, and he was later arrested from Gujarat by the police.
Police said during interrogation, both the accused namely Jalil Nutt and Mohd Azad confessed their involvement in the murder. They further revealed that there had been a scuffle regarding the victim’s request for a lift on a scooty bearing Registration No. JK02BM 7356. In order to seek revenge, they stabbed the victim, resulting in his death.
On the disclosure of the accused Mohd Azad, the weapon of offence, a Chinese-made scissor, was recovered. Moreover, the vehicle bearing Registration Number JK02BM 7356 (Scooty) used in the commission of the crime was also recovered and seized in the instant case. Further investigation in the case is going on, police said.
