Samba police rescues 4 bovine animals, seizes vehicle

SAMBA, Mar 10: District Police Samba has succeeded in foiling yet another bovine smuggling bid in the jurisdiction of P/S Ghagwal by rescuing four bovine animals today.
According to reports a police party of P/S Ghagwal headed by Inspector, Rajeev Kumar, SHO P/S Ghagwal under the supervision of Deepak Digra DySP Headquarters, Samba and under the overall supervision of Faisel Qureshi Additional SP, Samba during vehicle checking naka at NHW Tapyal, under Police Station Ghagwal signaled a Mahindra Vehicle bearing Registration Number JK08F-0188 to stop. The vehicle was coming from Kathua side.
During its checking four bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were being transported illegally. All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 24/2019 U/S 188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act has been registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation started.
Additional SP Samba, Faisal Qureshi said that Samba police has launched a war against the drug and bovine smugglers in the district and warned strict action against the people involved in drug and bovine smuggling.
He also appealed the people to remain vigilant and share the information with police in case they came to know about movement of the narcotic and bovine smugglers.
