Samba police launches drive against eve teasers, arrests 4

SAMBA, Mar 10 : Upon the reports of people aired at various police-public meets, Samba police, under the guidance of SSP Samba, Benam Tosh, has launched special drive against eve-teasers and loiterers and arrested four anti-social elements so far who were found involved in eve-teasing and loitering.
The arrested eve teasers have been identified as Kanav Padha, son of Rajinder Kumar of Diani Samba, Sandeep Raina, son of Ashok Kumar of Diani Samba, Anil Kumar, son of Sat Pal of Rajpura and Gopal Sharma, son of Ganesh Dass of Rajpura. FIR has been registered at Police Station (PS) Samba and investigation started.
Police said complaints were pouring in that eve-teasers and loiterers were chasing the school going girls, uttering obscene remarks and gestures and harassing girls at public places. Police organized special nakas at public places, around schools and colleges and arrested the accused red-handed and registered case under relevant sections of law.
Police said further interrogation of arrested eve-teasers and loiterers is going on. Arrests were made by police teams led by DySP Probationary, Mamta Sharma, PSI, Sohail Munir and PSI, Divya Bharti.
SSP Samba, Benam Tosh has already issued directions to all SDPOs, SHOs and I/C PPs of district Samba to organize special nakas outside the schools and colleges from where complaints regarding movements of eve-teasers and loiterers are coming up and to apprehend all those involved in such anti- social activities.
