Samba police arrests 6 involved in various cases

SAMBA, July 16: Samba police has arrested six persons involved in illicit drug trade, crime against woman and timber smuggling in four different cases registered in the district. It has also seized Charas, Opium straw, and timber from various locations.
The arrested persons have been identified as Jagpal Singh, son of Jaimal Singh of Teda tehsil and district Samba, Sumeer Kumar, son of Buchi Lal of Chakra Chack, Parotian tehsil, Hiranagar district Kathua, Vinay Sharma, son of Girdhari Lal of Supwal district Samba, Om Parkash, son of Chajju Ram of Muthi Khurd Ghagwal district Samba, Anil and Deepak.
While three accused namely Jagpal Singh, son of Jaimal Singh of Teda tehsil and district Samba, Anil and Deepak were arrested under relevant sections of NDPS Act, Vinay and Om were arrested for assault on girl student and others and Sumeer was arrested for timber smuggling.
Four separate cases, FIR No. 177/2023 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act in Police Station (PS) Samba, FIR No. 172/2023 U/S 8/15/20/27/29 NDPS Act PS Samba, FIR No. 56/2023 U/S 379 IPC & 26 Forest Act and FIR No. 174/2023 U/S 307/323/147/148 IPC.
The accused were arrested by the police teams headed by in charge PP, Goran PSI Sajid Jaral, in charge PP, Supwal PSI Deepika Jalotra, SHO Police Station Samba, Rajeshwar Singh, SHO Police Station, Ghagwal Bharat Bhushan under the supervision of DySP Headquarters, Samba Garu Ram and Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh said that stringent action under law is being taken against the perpetrators of crime related to drugs, crime against women and smuggling of any kind in the district and whosoever found involved is being arrested following proper procedure under law.
