Salary hike

Sir,
Kudos to Shanta Kumar Ex CM  (HP) for showing his resentment against hike in salary of our MPs. He candidly agreed that they get sufficient salary plus perks and even huge subsidy on eatables. There is a huge gap between rich, middle class and poor people.
The  real development of our nation will be when everybody can afford to have basic necessary facilities. There is very much inequality which also gives rise to public  anger sometimes.
In these times, when our politicians want their salaries hiked every now and then, Shanta Kumar (Ex CM HP) deserves much praise for  opposing salary hike. It is irony of fate with this nation that the opposition and ruling party come together  on this issue and almost all politicians want hikes in salary + perks every now and then without feeling plight of commonmen. There is no financial crunch when their salary is to be hiked but there is acute financial crunch for employees.
It is astonishing to know that Govt spends about Rs 650 crore as subsidy on eatables in Parliament. Our politicians  would have done some justice with poor people of the nation by foregoing their subsidy. How can Nation afford huge subsidy for our politicians when they get a handsome salary plus free electricity, free water, telephone facility (upto limits) free accommodation (rental value of which is in lakhs/month).
Yours etc….
R Kumar
