JAMMU, Nov 18: While the Government has launched several initiatives to promote inclusive growth, the private sector has a major role to play in this endeavour said Sajad Lone, Minister for Social Welfare.
Sajad appreciated CII Foundation and Godrej and Boyce for implementing various social initiatives for the people affected by disaster especially in J&K. He was speaking at the handing over ceremony of CSR funded trauma care night ambulance for Baramulla and Bandipora districts of J&K.
CII Foundation handed over two well-equipped ambulances to the district administrations of Baramulla and Bandipora in J&K. The Foundation with support of Godrej and Boyce, initiated trauma care free night ambulance services project to provide quality and timely emergency medical services to the people living in remote and inaccessible geographies in J&K.
The ambulances, equipped with semi-advanced life equipments, will be placed either at district or block hospital and will be operationalized with the help of community. The Foundation, along with its Implementing Partner, HN Wachoo Trust will organize regular health awareness camps, develop the capacity of healthcare providers and distributing free medicines in Baramulla and Bandipora districts.
To launch and handover ambulances, a program was organized in Srinagar where Sajad Lone, Minister for Social Welfare launched the ambulance service.
Among others present were Rahul Sahai, Chairman CII J&K State Council, lqbal Lone, Commissioner, CPWD, Saddam Zaroo, Vice Chairman CII J&K State Council and Dr Amit Wanchoo from HN Wanchoo Trust.
“We need more CSR funding from corporate India to help us deliver development in J&K specifically in areas of child protection and education. CII would be the best pivotal point to take ahead the idea of CSR hub with the Department of Social Welfare”, said Sajad Lone.
Rahul Sahai, Chairman and Saddam Zaroo, Vice Chairman CII J&K State Council assured the Minister of full support from CII and industry to take ahead his vision of development through social inclusiveness.
