JAMMU, Aug 22: Chairman Sainik Cooperative House Building Col (retd) K S Padwal today highlighted the achievements of the Society during his four year long tenure in office.
Talking to reporters here along with other members of the Society he said since the present management took over the charge of the society on July 28, 2008 the Society earned profit for the first time since its inception.
Releasing the income expenditure of the Society he said it run in loss during 2008-09 only while it was in profit for all rest of the years till 2011-12.
He said the dispute of Shopping Complex, G Sector was solved and contract was assigned to new firm. The JCC Bank building was constructed by the Society and presently it earns a monthly rent of Rs 27,850 from JCC Bank and Vision Plus Income Tax Franchisee. Besides the Society constructed conference hall in Sainik Colony, constructed ration store for Depot No 333, stage for Ram Lila Club and the ground for staging Ram Lila was also leveled.
He said besides boundary wall round the Ram Mandir was constructed, construction of boundary wall round the 11 kanals of land meant for hospital to save it from encroachers, construction of community hall, modernization of office and boundary walling of school.
Stadium of Sainik School was constructed, Society road was widened, 140 number of crates were laid to tame the Khud, 40 parks of society were enclosed with the boundary wall, parks were marked with sector wise, statue of Major I S Babbar and Major A S Jasrotia were put in park, besides many other works were under taken during the four years tenure.
He in a letter to Minister of Cooperatives urged him that order passed by Registrar Cooperatives on August 14 this year be declared null and void as it will impede in the development of the Society through the hands of some vested interests.
