JAMMU, Jan 16: A meeting of the Select Committee on Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Religious Places (Management and Regulation) Bill, was held under the chairmanship of Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Mir Saifullah here today.
Threadbare discussion was held on the proposed Bill. The Committee members Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, Dr. Mustafa Kamaal, Harshdev Singh, Hakim Mohammad Yasin, M. Y. Tarigami and Ashwani Kumar Sharma gave their valuable suggestions regarding the Bill.
The Chairman directed the Assembly Secretariat to circulate the minutes of today’s meeting among the Committee members enabling them to come up with their suggestions in the next meeting scheduled to be held on February 7 so that the bill could be given a final shape.
Among others, Secretary Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Secretary Legislative Assembly, M. Ramzan, Secretary Revenue, Vinod Koul, Secretary Tourism, Mr. Zaffar Ahmed Bhat, Relief Commissioner, R. K. Pandita, Special Secretary Assembly, M.R Singh and other officers attended the meeting.
