JAMMU, Oct 15: Deputy Commissioner Jammu Ajeet Kumar Sahu today conducted an extensive tour to all migrant shelter homes set up for the affected families due to cross border firing.
Deputy Commissioner, Jammu visited Golden Farm Deoli, Hr.Sec. School Deoli, Hr.Sec. School Salher, Hr.Sec. School Rehal of Bishnah area where migrant families of Arnia area have been accommodated. He alongwith SDM (North) took stock of various arrangements made in these temporary shelter homes and gave necessary directions to the concerned officers for removing shortcoming.
About 14000 people are staying in these shelter homes and District Administration has made elaborate arrangements for their boarding & lodging, food, transportation, health check up and mosquito prevention.
DDC also inspected the temporary schools and Anganwari centres. He directed Chief Education Officer and concerned teachers to ensure proper functioning of temporary school in these shelter homes. Project Officer ICDS has also been asked to ensure running of Anganwari Centres in these shelter homes. 1000 more blankets have sent to these shelter homes for use of migrants. Deputy Commissioner also met the inmates and the concerned Sarpaches and took stock of their problems and gave necessary directions to the concerned departments for their redressal.
Sahu also visited Kaku De Kotha near Pital Post and met the people there. After visit of Arnia area, Deputy Commissioner also conducted extensive tour to shelter homes H.S.Bindi Sarocha, Hr.Sec. School Chakroi, Hr.Sec. School Dalbliar in R.S Pura.
SDM R.S.Pura and Tehsildar Suchetgarh accompanied the Deputy Commissioner.
DDC interacted with the people and took stock of the arrangements and necessary directions were given to the concerned officers for removal of shortcomings.
Later in the evening Deputy Commissioner visited Hr.Sec.School Marh, Gupta Farm House Akhnoor and took stock of arrangements.
District Administration has taken all measures to ensure that these migrants do not face any difficulty.
