Jammu, May 3: Deputy Commissioner Jammu Ajeet Kumar Sahu today inaugurated Vivekananda Study Circle (VSC), a project of International Volunteer Foundation (IVF), J&K supported by Ramakrishna Mission in a simple and impressive function held at Seminar Hall, Ramakrishna Mission, Udhaywala.
Mr. Sahu, who was the chief guest on the occasion motivated the young students to follow the footprints of Swami Vivekananda and contribute their part in the nation building process.
The program started with the welcome address and introduction of VSC by Kiran Kumar Sharma, social worker and Chairman, IVF. A Nukkad Natak was also presented by the Legendary Theatre Artist Vijay Malla and his young dynamic team from Ek Sath Rang Mandal (ESRM) on National Integration, Save The Girl Child, Moral values, etc.
Suresh Sharma, Secretary, District Red Cross Jammu was the guest of honour, who encouraged the young people to work for the betterment of society.
Swami Nirantarananda ji called upon the youth to read Swami Vivekananda and build character, develop essential values like love, cooperation, empathy, understanding, sympathy, etc which brings inner peace, happiness, success, etc.
The motive behind the opening of VSC was to provide the youth with an opportunity to develop these traits in life through philanthropic activities and organizing lectures, discussions, group reading, debates,etc.
Anil Kumar, Project Director and Ganesh Singh, Deputy Director of VSC read a paragraph from the famous book “Hey Bharat, Utho-Jago” and took a national pledge to the gathering.
The program ended with a closing bhajan by Swami Ntrinayananda ji. The youth who got enrolled as member of VSC were Pawan Kumar, Jeevan Singh, Gourav Choudhary, Kanwal Parihar, Vipul Kishore, Atal Adarsh, Anuroop Pathania, Laksh Bali, Puneet Sharma, Koushal Kumar, Pankaj Kumar and others.
