MUMBAI/JAMMU, Feb 28: Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K president, Manish Sahni met party’s National secretary and MP, Anil Desai in Mumbai and submitted a memorandum of demands.
Sahni said that people of J&K are presently struggling for their identity and justice and time has come for decisive intervention against Central Government’s breach of promise.
He demanded immediate restoration of Statehood to J&K and protection of the rights of locals under Article 371.
The Shiv Sena leader demanded immediate restoration of J&K’s Legislative Assembly seats to 50 through delimitation to end to the decades-long political discrimination with Jammu region.
He also demanded that Jammu be declared as permanent capital of J&K.
Sahni further demanded dignified return of Kashmiri Pandits to the valley and the fulfilment of long-pending demands of displaced persons from PoJK.
His more demands included revival of grass root level democracy by holding elections to local bodies in J&K.
Sahni informed that Anil Desai assured that all the issues will be addressed.
